A meeting was held with the gups, mangmis and the gewog administrative officers in the DYT hall on 19th July regarding the establishment of the CICs in all the fifteen gewogs.

The meeting was chaired by the Dzongrab, with Dungpas from the Sakteng and Wamrong Dungkhags along with the relevant sector heads and gewog engineers.

The establishment of the CICs in the gewog is in accordance to the Royal Government of Bhutan commitment to achieve the Millennium Development Goal by 2015 and Bhutan ICTs Policies and Strategies (BIPs) to establish CICs in all 205 gewogs by the end of 10FYP.

The CIC building will be of one storied with two rooms, that will suffice a meeting hall and other room will be equipped with the computers, printers, copier machine, digital camera, phone ,fax etc that will facilitate the service to the stakeholders .

Is was brought to the idea of the participants that there will be broadband connectivity in all the CIC centers after the completion of the National Fiber Optic Network Project which will facilitate speed internet connection to many of the on line services which are in the pipeline under e-governance.

The establishment of the CICs in all the gewogs is projected to complete by June 2011.
