A Community Information Center(CIC) has been established at Udzorong Gewog under the Dzongkhag Administration.
In total five CICs have been established in five gewogs in five Dzongkhag in the 2008-09 FY.
This CIC is on pilot funded by the Asian Development Bank,ADB and is executed by the Department of Information Technology,DIT,MoIC.The main objective of the CIC is to provide better services to the community and the people without much difficulty. If the CIC runs fine and provides the services smoothly, its likly to expand the same CIC in other gewogs too in future.
The CIC project has provided about 5 Pcs, Scanner, Copier machine, a digital camera, a paper cutter , Fax machine,phone, printers(colored & B/w) etc, in total the CIC has provided about 33 items to the CIC operator, whom we have already interviewed and selected.
This CIC will run as a business module where the CIC operator will not be paid his/her salary, however he/she has to sustain from the reasonable amount charged from the services provided to the stakeholders/customers.
 The CIC operator will be trained for a month at DIT about the CIC equipments operation and basic computer fundamentals where the operator will be able to give basic computer trainings to those intersted participants after the return.
