A fire broke out in Wamrong town yesterday razing about 12 houses including shops and hotels to the ground, although there was also rainfall but still it couldn’t subside the fire.
The people and the staff of the Dungkhag Administration along with the students from the nearby schools fought to bring the fire under control but in vain, the Home Minister, Dasho Dzongdag and other officials from the Dzongkhag Administration also rushed to the site with the two fire fighting vehicles and emergency relief kits for the victims.
According to Dasho Dungpa, the fire started from a residential house below the town, which further spread upwards and engulfed the shops along the Trashigang-S/Jongkhar highway.
The fire which was started at around 11.45 AM was finally brought under control at 2.00PM |
