RANGJUNG VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE
Introduction
The Rangjung VTI was established from the bifurcation of the Royal Technical Institute and relocated from Rinchending campus at Phuentsholing to the present campus at Rangjung in August 2003.
Courses
The institute presently offers two years certificate level course in electrical, computer hardware & networking and furniture making trade only. The curriculum of two year certificate level courses consists of four semesters with 80 percent practical and 20 percent theory.
Dzongkha, mathematics, English and science are taught as associated subjects in order to upgrade their numerical and linguistic proficiencies.
Current trainees:
As of August 2007, the institute has a total of 158 trainees of which 49 are female and 109 are male.
Pass outs:
188 trainees graduated from this institute since 2003 in electrical (167 trainees) and computer hardware (21 trainees) trade. All are employed in the corporations, private and government agencies.
Staff:
The total staff strength of the institute as of August 2007 is 28 out of which 15 are teaching staff and rests are administrative and support staff.
On going construction
The multi purpose hall, workshop/garage and carpentry workshop are still under construction. The river protection is also under construction but suspended till end of August 2007 due to the increase in volume of the river.
Future Plan
The institute has a plan to introduce the following courses in future.
1. Certificate course in Automobile engineering and
2. Certificate course in Mechanical engineering
