Message from the Dzongdag

Very Warm Welcome to all our viewers!

Trashigang Dzongkhag is the eastern most Dzongkhag of Bhutan, sharing border with the Indian States of Arunachal Pradesh in the north east and Assam in the south east. It is 551km away from the capital of Bhutan.

Trashigang is one of the largest Dzongkhags with the highest resident population and it also has the maximum administrative units in the country. The Dzongkhag has fairly good accessibility and telecommunication facilities when compared to most of the Dzongkhags in the country. However, there are still four geogs and some remote villages that are not connected to road network of the Dzongkhag. This poses a great challenge to the Dzongkhag administration to deliver services effectively and to bring about equitable economic growth in the Dzongkhag.

Introduction of Dzongkhag website is an initiative of the Department of Information and Technology (DIT) to mainstream the local administrations into the e-governance initiative of the government to enhance the efficacy of delivery of services by the dzongkhags. The Dzongkhag website has begun its modest function hosting some basic information about the Dzongkhag and its administrations.

In the years ahead, we plan to expand the information base and activate the website to cater to the needs of the domestic as well as the international viewers. Announcements on tenders, job vacancies, calendar of festivals and events, places of interests for tourism and even profile on the Dzongkhag and its geogs will be shared. News, reports and publication will be made available periodically.

Through the website, we intend to give the interested viewers a forum to know the Dzongkhag, get information on business and job opportunities, and much more interesting information. And this can ONLY happen, if our valued viewers could kindly browse from time to time, give your valuable advices and make good use of the website. We promise that it will be updated regularly.

Happy Browsing!!
